I recived your kind letter But had allmost given up hopes of reciven a leter from you I am well at Present Daphne I think you are very Backward abot writing to me you have all the chance in the world to write whare I dont I wish you would write to me oftener then you do Please dont be sow Backward any longer for I do love to get leters from you Thare is some hopes of getting home know as the war is close and know fiting But the Rebles say thay ante lick thay are olny overpowered This town is full of those Rebles thare are a gowing home some live in won plase and some in a nother waiting fore transportaion Thay talk very saucy Thay look very Bad and durty But that dont make any diferance / with the ladys here thay shake hands with them and make all the fus in the world thay say thay are sow glad thay have come Most of our company has gon at Jackson Miss to take charge of the Property and arms that the Rebles turn over when surened to General Canby You have Probly seen the Boys that have come home Thare is a report here that the Won year men is a gowing home and the Veterans has got to stay But I dont know how true this is But time will tell If thare is know chance fore me to get out untill I serve my time out I shall come home on a fourloug We have a nice place to stay here know But I dont like this solerding in time of peace I wod like to be home to bee a free man Wonce more Please write soon
