I got 2 letters from you 2 from mother 1 from James Hubbard and 1 from Uncle billey and the girls I told you in my last 2 letters Not to rite any more untill I told you to. you ma continue to rite for if I dont get to go to Chattanooga the letters will be sent to me you said in your letter of the 15th December that you hadent got the money yet but I have no dout but what you have got it be fore this for I sent it by the State agent as I did before
I will now tell you that we have had a very cold spell hear they say / it is the coldest spell they have had for several years the ice is about 4 inches thick in the ponds and it is still freezing their is a little snow in the ground
O yes I must tell you that I was out in the country all last weak and stade at a farm house and had plenty to eat and a good bed to sleap in, but it would not do for me to stay their long for I couldent think of anything but home. we coulent get feed for our horses hear so we was sent out in the country to feed them
I will now close for this time still hoping to remain your loving and true husband rite as often as you can and dont trubble about me for I am dooing as well as a Soldier can do God has taken care of me thus fare and I trust he will continue his murcies unto me
