My Dear Brother and Sister and Friends
I again take my pen in hand to Wright afiew lines to you to Let you know that I am able to be a knocking around but I am not verry well at this time but I Hope when these fiew lines come to hand they will find you all well and doing well. Well Will this is Sunday but Sunday hear is not like Sunday for at home for when Sunday Morning comes it is fall in boys for Inspection of Guns Napsacks Cartorage Boxes &c &c. Wee have to work hear on Sunday as well as any other Day Our Regiment goes out on picket this Eavening it is rather Cool hear and Cloudy now the weather is the Changeablest hear you Ever Saw it rains one Day turns Cold and Sleet and Snowes all at the Same time and maby the next Day is the Same. the Opinion of the Boys is that wee will have to Make a nother Move as soon as the weather will and the Roads gets so wee can get along without wading Mud Boot top Deep Well Will wee have got Our new tents wee have had them Over a week now wee are verry well Satistfied with them / there is 20 in a tent when they are all hear but there is always some body Sick so their wont hardly Ever be that many in a tent at one time Well Will this is Sunday knight and you Dont know how I would like to be some place a huging some mans prety Girl Us Boys dont get to see a women once a month Down in this Desolate part of the world So you know there is no Danger of us forgeting the Prety Girls at Home Well I must Quit my foolishness and tell you that the boys has a bad knight on picket for it is a Raining and Sleeting like Sixty. Jim hant got back yet nor wont be for a week or two yet they are verry near all Sick at home but I guess you have heard a bout how they all are they was all geting beter when I herd from home last Well Will if you was hear to knight and out on picket with the Boys I would bet you my old Cap you would wish you was back home with Sarah Well I must now come to a Close for this time for they are beeting the tatoo now So wee will have to go to bed and put the lites out So good by hoping to Remain your Brother Untill Death A.
