Dear brother I take this opportunity to write you a few lines to inform you that we are all up but not all well. Amanda & Siss are both under complaint I received a letter from you last monday and was glad to hear from you once more for we had wrote 2 letters to you and one to Jeremiah Brown to know what had be come of you. There are a considerable sicness in this moral vineyard Bilon Jeffries lost one of their children (John) last friday 17th with the Diptherea Wm Bowers Henry is also sick, and several others sufise it to say its sickly Pteases children are all / sick with the sore-throat
David I Jeffries and Mary his wife have born unto them a son its about a month old more-or-less. Wm Jones has been gone to Ohio this long time thre came aletter for him I suppose but he has not got it and I dont know that he ever will. Old Bill Jones Wm Jones took it out of the office and hant been good enough to bring it back. he owned to me in Ft Wayne last tuesday that he took it out of the office & that it contained $2 green back and 2 ten cents Postage scrip but will he ever give it up Miss E Jones has also gone to the Ohio. Pheby Studavent and her Mother come out last tuesday she sends her best respects you and Joshua /
Mother sends her love and best respects to you and Joshua and says she wants you to write to her I want you to write a little sooner this time and tell us how the Election went off and the shooting execution of that Robrt Gay private 1st Ind Volurteers and as many other things as you are a mind to Yours &c now wite
