Lucius Witham Stockton was born around 1830 in Pennsylvania to Lucius W. Stockton. He was baptized on July 21, 1838, in Saint Peters Protestant Episcopal Church in Baltimore, Maryland. By 1850, he was working as a clerk in Baltimore. He married Ellen Wishart, and they had at least five children: Richard, born around 1853; John, born around 1855; Martha, born around 1857; Ellen, born around 1862; and Catherine, born around 1868. By 1860, he was working as a mail agent in Washington, Pennsylvania, and he owned $3,500 of real estate and $200 of personal property. By 1880, he was working as a cashier for the Pullman Palace Car Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He died there on May 13, 1896.
