George C. Trumbull was born in March 1818 in Worcester, Massachusetts, to George and Louise Trumbull. He married Nancy Moore on October 21, 1855, and the couple apparently had no children. He applied for a passport in 1859, and his application described him as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with dark hair and “hazel grey” eyes. During the Civil War, he served as Master of Ordnance for the state of Massachusetts. Then, from 1865 until 1870, he worked as a Pension Bureau agent. By 1880, he was working as the treasurer of the North End Savings Bank. He died in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on May 25, 1885.
