Dinner is over and the dishes washed and now I will try to write to you I wish you could all ben here for dinner we hadent any thing verry good but maby you could a made out on it til the next meal if it wasent too long. we received your letters and was verry glad to hear from you all we got a letter from Will a few days ago he said he was well and all the rest of the boys but more and he was sick yet /
we are all well and I hope when you get this it will find you all well and doing well and killing all the copperheads and butternuts you can for that is just what they deserve dont you think it is they are too meen to live among white folks any longer when they come round to take down the names bill martz told them thare was the road and for them to take it and he wouldent give his name nor age but they took it any how thare is some others that done the same way but I dont know who it is yet I hope all such men will be drafted / that is just what they deserve if it wasent for them this war would a ben over before this time I beleive maby I have said enough about them but I havent said half what I think
O girls I wish you was here too help us spin and have some fun about old Corbin and Hanah a gitting married dont that beet old bobtail I will send you a peace of her dress now dont hurt your eyes a looking at it for it so nice Sarah I wish you and Will could be here to vote for a preacher this year I dont know whether we will get any this year / or not will says he wont preach because thare is so many butternuts but I hope he will he was at our last meetting but he wasent hardly able to preach they have turned ann morman and Sarah steward out of meetting Seth Cadwalader is dead he come home but dident live but a few weeks
I wish you could all be here to eat cherrys for thare is plenty here where ever thare is trees thare is plenty of apples and peaches I hope you will get to come back against they get ripe for I would like to see you the best in the world give lissy a big kiss and hug for me and tel her I would like to se her so well
