inow seat my self to write afiew lines to you to inform you that iam well fat and sassey and ihope when these fiew lines come to hand they will find you all well Well Scott ireceived your letter in diew time and was glad to hear that you was all well Well Scott iwould like to come home and see you all again and get some good peaches to eat once more and help make molases this year iwas at home laste year when you maid molasses but icant come home they wont give me any furlow to come home so icant come well Scott ihave just been to market and ihave got me some butter so ishal have some butter for supper iwish iwas at home to knight to get my supper icould have some thing good to eat and that is what wee never get down here itell you that / you live like gentleman while ilive like apoor negro itell you they dont care for poor soldiers no more than they do for adog or half so mutch as you would for yours well Scott the weather is verry cold down here now it was cold anough this morning for me to wear my over coat and then icould not keep warm idont bleave icould stand the cold if iwas to come home for ihave been down here in this warm country for so long that icant stand / the cold any more well Scott iwant you to speak agood word to some of the girls for me for icant get to come home to do it my self well Scott isuppose my regment is at new orleans and they are agoing to mobeal from new orleans idont know whether iwill ever find them again or not well iwill close by asking you to write as sune as you get this so good by Robert to Scott Hubbard this Saturday the 19 of September So good by
