May the 28th/64
 
            Sister forder I once more take my pen in hand to wright to you to let you know that we ar all well at this time and hope that those few lines may find you and little lisey well it is not worth while to make aney apologys only that I could not wright my will was good to have writen a dozen times I hope that you will not do as I have done if you was here I could talk to you about a weak a bout old times things have changed so mutch since you was here if you could see center grove all in ashes it looks awful to think the place where we had so mutch pleasure and enjoyed our selvs so well when our dear companions was here hant that too bad to think that folks will get so mean they ar fussing now about poor Isic Martz funeral it is to be preached tomorrow some place but I do not know where / it was his request to be preached at center grove but it is in ashes now and the friends requested that it should be preached at the lutheran church where he was buried but mr hiatt says it must be preached at the breatheran church or he will not go to hear it I some times wonder what people want to live here for for it is nothing but a world of trouble well sarah Julia was over and stayed all night with me the other night we set up nearly mid night and talked about old times we wished that you was here I do hope and pray that it wont be long until your poor man will be at home so as you can come back out here I know that you could enjoy your self so mutch beter and besides that we all want to see you so bad Jacob martz was over the other day and stayed for diner he talks so mutch about the boys in the army he talked a / great eal about mr forder he sayed he was a good man there as well as at home Jakes health is improveing very fast he seames to be very thankful to think that he was spared to get home he says that he believes that if Israel and Isic had have bin let come home that they would have boath got well haint that to bad to think that they would not let them come well sarah mrs Sands is very poorly I dont think she will last very long they had prair meeting there last Sunday she seemed to enjoy it so well altho she could not set up a minit while meeting lasted she sayed that she did not expect to be here long but she had a house not made with hands eterniaty in the heavens where she soon expected to go she grievs so mutch about her boys in the army and about the way davids wife has done / I supos that you have herd about the way she has done long ago
 
bily Mullens wife has the consumption and they dont think that she will live long. the rest of the folks I beieve ar all well
 
I believe I will close by saying that I hope to see you soon but if we never meet no more on earth I hope that we will meet in heaven where parting will be no more now sarah be shure to wright soon with out fail pap and I talk about you every day and hope that we will see you soon so farewell for this time I want to heare from you soon so no more at present
