I received your letter this morning and was glad to hear that you was well. But I thought you was never going to write But alas it has come it does me good to hear from some of of my friends. I have not heard from maggie since she left here but you say you are afraid you offended me by saying that they went of without paying their honest debts I was aware of that the same day they started Prof Oreas was up here after him that morning I dont think they did right But I / think mag might wright I dont think she was to blame it was her father that was to blame. if I get aletter from her I will let you know it. she may do as you say (dont want to hear from Darlington) therfore she may write to me here I went to the concert last monday night and it was Beautifull I wish you had a been up here I looked for you it lasted two nights uncle Euc has left here he went to lafayette a monday we look for him back tomorow after his close and then he is going to leave us for good I dont like to see him go. he is going south on the river he does not know yet where I have been haveing / a nice time up here we have sold our store now and I have nothing to do now only to read and write mother has gone to Elen Barnharts and Pa has gone to Darlington if you know where that is. There is going to be a big negro meeting here next sunday I wish you and some more of the folks would come up I will have to close. we are all well at present all of the family sends love to you you will have to excuse bad writing for I am writing with a gold pen.
