            Dear Scott
                                    After so long a time I will endeavor to pencil down a few lines to you. I am still lingering in the vicinity if of this place, took a notion I would not go to hadoges as I expected to. I would like very much to see all of you little fellows. Tell Alonzo Shiner he must write to me soon & you do likewise. I have been having a good time since I have here, tending examinations exhibition &c &c—well Scott I have no news to tell you. You must write soon & tell me all about Darlington and its inhabitants, and then I will write you a good long letter.
