my kind Sister
with pleasure I take my pen in hand to answer your vary kind and wecom letter which I received in diew time it was read with great pleasure and I was glad to hear you was all well as I am hapy to say we air all well & well Emily I hardly no what to rite to interest you as I am deeply trobeled over the deth of our old president we hurd it yesterday and I could not believe it but I guess I will have to belive it it is sorful news to me and to hear the trators rejoising over it but if it is so we have to bare with it the best we can but it is hard to have to give up as good a man as he was /
well Em another subject it will surprise you if you have not hurd it I can tell you that john combs and Amanda Mitchell is married they was married one week ago to day he plade off on her last fall when he was at home and old john Mitchel was agoing to make old Tom combes pay for it and they rote to john that he had to come home and fix it up and he come home and married her the talk is that he swar swars he will not live with her if he lives to come back well Em I guess you can take the hint what he done if you cant I will explane it to you he nocked her up anuf of that subject & well Em I will here add / that Ransom purlee and Mag Monical is married and they have don like them other to that I have just told you about they planted they corn be for they built they fence well Em john colglizier and Sarah combes is married to but I guess they air all rite right on they goos well Em Milt forder and caty Pritchens has had a big fuss they was all at meeting on the hill and on going home tom caubel was with lida Ritcheson and Sam green went and whisper to tom and told him to watch that or lid would git him in the pawpaw patch before he got home and lid told Sam to go away with his lies and then Milt comensed and / called her all mean names he could think of he called her a damed bitch and a damed hore and every mean name he could think of and caty went to old forder and told him that they had to be somthing done about it and forder told her for her and milt to go to gather and fix it up and caty told him no they had to be witneses by when it was seteled she was agoing to put the law in forse aganste them and Milt went and eknoleged that he lide well Em I will have to close for my paper is about full and I have scribeled more now than you can read
