It is a very purty day our Regiment is out on Picket to day they wont be back till tomorrow morning I am still at the hospitle and have been since Christmas and I expect I will have to stay for some time I have to sit up half the knight evry knight So you know it makes me feel like I was sent for and could not go Well I would like to see you all the best in the world / but I know that cant be now so I content my self by thinking what a nice time I will have when the war is over I am coming out their and live with you I am glad you have such a nice team You wanted to know about the beans and bread I sed that one third of our bread was beans they are ground up into flour and then mixed with the four and then baked so hard you could knock down a two year old with them Well I must come to a close by saying I want to know what the babys name is I have wrote severil times to know and hant herd yet I want you to wrigh all the news you can think of wright / and tell me what kind of a time you had a Christmas I myself had a very dry Christmas for I was at the Hospitle all day Some had a fine time I wish you and all of my friends in Montgomery Co a hapy New Year Well Sarah I thought last winter I would eat turky at your house this Christmas and Newyears but I expect I beter put it of till next Christmas Well Sarah I want you to wright more to me when I wright to one I wright to both I must now come to a close for the presant I want you to wright soon and often So good by hoping to remain
