Well Scottey by shot I have slited you but you must forgive me for I have so many to rite to that I will forget some but I have adopeted a new plan that is when ever I get a letter I sit rite down and answer it
 
I would like very mutch to se you Hrve Ritchardson says you havent groad a bit since I come away
 
            you told me in your other letter how you was getting along with your learning / I am glad you take such an intrust in you learning for it is the best thing you can do, for if a man has a good education he is all rite for this world and it will not hurt him for the next
 
I expect you would like to be a soldier and I can tell you how you can be one Just sley some of them Copperheads and have it charged to me if you pleas. I would love to hear of hefferns being cild he is a mean scamp. but I will have to close hoping to remain your loving Brother Wm Forder
