Chesterfield Sept 1861
Dear Cousins
I address you so because I have
neither time nor room to write to all sep
erate. I have enjoyed myself so much since
I heard from you. I hardly know how
to begin to tell you about it. I wish
you could have been with me. I have
I have been staying in town for too weeks
I went every wich away, to the fair
grandmas They are fixing it up for
the sick soldiers going to bring them
from Richmond it is fixed very nicly
I went to another encampment it looked
very nice indeed it is a beautiful
place I wish they always had such
a one they expect to go towards
Norfolk next Wednesday
I went to see Martha Ann yesterday she
was quite well but not as lively as
previously is LLoyd is here he is as
smart as usual I asked George
yesterday if he could carry me to your
house Saturday he said he would
like to go but he would be so
busy sowing oats he could not go
youall must come down and stay
some with me I would be so glad to
see you we will have no preach
ing this Sunday so I do not know
what I shall do with myself I suppose
I shall have to emtertain the same ones
that I did last Sunday I wish you
could be here to see them I do
do not expect you will be able to
read this note it is badly
written excuse it I will try and
be better next time take pains with
me in much love to all write to

to get letters from my friends
