My Dear wife I now take my pen in hand to write you a few lines to let you know that we are still hear and a live and well and hopeing that you are the same and that you may continue so and that you may live long in the land that the lord thy god giveth the my health is good and if we have to moove I think that I shall be able to go as far as the rest if not sick I received a letter from you written the 14 and 15 of apr and was glad to hear / that you wer all well and hope that I may always hear the same you spoke of that money yes I got that all safe and sound I dont know what we shall doe nor when we shall do that
Apr the 23 well Nila I now will try and finish this letter for I have some news to tell you we got our pay yesterday I got 52 dollars the Captain says that we shall stay hear and that we shall not go front and if we stay hear I think that perhaps I shall get home some time this summer but cant tell I think that I shall not send my money just yet for if I get my / furlow but cant tell we are all well at present I can write no more at present so good Evening in the morning
