My Dear wife I now seat my self on the blankets to pen a few lines to you as I have a few moments to spair and thinking that you might posibley like to hear what I am about well we have just ben up and ben musterd in for two months more pay that is twentey six dollars I wrote you and sent you ten dollars and I hope that you have received it before this time and have sent a letter to let me know that you have got it and I sent 10 dollars / to fathers folkes and said to them that they might give you a note for it I have got some by me and I thought that I had better keep it and se if I get my furlough and if not then I can send it home to you but I am in hopes that I can get one as long as the girl told her mother her Johns was well I must close for the mail leaves soon E M has ben excused for nearley 1 week I dont know what we shall do nor whear we shall go be my health is good fat as ever and ugley
