My Dear I now take my pen in hand to write you a few lines to let you know that I received your letter and was glad to hear that you wer all well and smart my health is very good and that of the Reg is good Seth H had a letter from adams to day that was dated the 2 and they had got a letter from Hathaway staiting that henrey was very sick that he tuck a hard cold and it settled in his lungs and he had got the lung feaver / and thinking that perhaps you might hear from him and I want you to write to me and let me know how he is and wheather he is dead or alive if you know you asked me if I thought that we should stay hear long enough for you to send me a box that I cant say but I think that we shall stay hear till the last of march if not longer I cant say but if you want to send a box you must send it right away and dont send a very large one and dont pay out mutch money for me now dont you send / mutch for I can live on the fare that I gett if I am well and I want you to save all you can and have aneough for your use and to live deasant and comfortable and dress so that you will not be a shamed to be sean by aney one I dress well and why should not you and I want you to dress the children well and nice that is deasant dont send me aney clothes for I have got a neough now Miss Nettie your letter was duley received and father was glad to hear / from you and to think that I had got a little girl that will write to her father and my little boy I hope that you will be a good boy Now I must close and may god bless you and save you from all that he seas fit to and save you at last is my dailey prayer
