My Dear little wife I now take my pen in hand to write you a few lines to let you know that I am still alive and well and hope that this will find you enjoying good health and in fine spirits and I hope that you will continue so my health neaver was better and I hope that it will continue so and I hope and prey to god that that you and my Children may be spaird and searve god with all your might mind and streangth and I trust that our prayers will / asend to the throne of grase as long as god spairs our lives we have had stormey weather hear for some time and the mud is some now I can tell you I spose you have got some snow in hawley now and cant farm it mutch just now well we have the start of you in that we can stand in our Camp and se a man plowing the ground whear we have drilled maney afternoons but probaley we shall drill on that ground no more but some other place will be found it is noon and the mail will leave hear at 1 oclock and I must close 1 kiss A N Hubbard
