My Dear wife I now take my pen in hand to inform you that I received your letter to day and I was glad to hear that you wer al well and getting alonge first rate and I hope that you will do so till I get home we are all well tell Clannie that Father is glad to have his little boy write to him and I hope that he will always be a good boy and mind his mother and love her and little sister tell her that I can read her little letters and / am glad to hear that she is a good girl and is learning to write and I hope tht she will write often we have ben out choping to day and the mud is some I hear that father is high as 77 because the town will not pay henry packard his 100 dollars he has not taken the oath yet and they will pay him in porportion to the time and now if he should take it now his time is about half out he would get onley 50 dollars they say that he spends the most of his time in the guard house but will do some dutey rather than stay thare all the time /
I rather think that you will get so that you can manag prettey well but dont run in det have no old store debts pay as you go as long as thear is aney thing to pay with we expect to get some money soon and I shall send you some more money to pay your expenses
