Well Nila I will now try and pen you a few lines to let you know tht I am still alive and doeing well as far as health is consearned I received your of the 20 and was glad to hear you wer all well and was mutch pleased with my pen you said I might doe with it as I pleased well now I will tell you what I did with it for I know that you will not be mad I did not give it away because I did not think aney thing of it or you for god knows I think a neough of you and my family but I thought / as I had no place to keep it and I thought that our Seargant was worthy of it I gave it to him and he says that it is a splendid pen and now I want you to send me $2 00 dollars just as soon as you get this we have not ben paid off yet and I borowed two dollars and now he wants it and if you have it pleas send it to me and oblige your ould man we are all well tell the children that they must be good and mind what you say I must close now and may god in his goodness save you all is my earnest prayer
