John W. Caldwell to Kate W. Caldwell, 17 March 1864
Store house 15th Penna L. Cav
Chattanooga Tenn. March 17.1864

Dear Kate
I am back to Chattanooga onc more but do not expect to stay here but a few days.

The Regiment has gone to Knoxville. a party of us was left back to take charge of the extra stores and pack them away in the store house. we got through with it last night since I got back from Huntsville I have been very busy getting the company ready for the march.

The Regiment left the old camp on the 14th they took near all day loading the horses in the cars. I did not leave till the next day 15th and got into Chattanooga in the eavning staid at Depot all night. the next day we was very busy loading the waggons, and packing the good away.

To day is very pleasant and Sunday but I have not time to enjoy it. I have been / writing all the morning, setteling up the paper. I do not know if you saw my last letter that I wrote home. in it I gave the changes in the Regiment.

Capt Sellers left here on the same day that the Regiment left. He has gone home to day. he is out of the service. so I have been getting the account straight so that he can turn over the company property to the new Company commander. As I have very little news to write about and being tired I will stop.

I am very well.

Give my love to all

                                    good bye
                        from your affectionate brother
