Dear Father
It is with pleasure that I now take to rite a line or too to you, to let you know that we are yet among the liveing, and in good health, witch we hope that this will find you all the same. we are now under orders for to march at any moment, so we expect to leave here very soone, but cant say wen. but we have one of the finest camps now than we ever had, since we have been out. we got all of the boards that / was in the neighborhood and had teams for to cart them for us. then the colonel had one tent built for a patron for us to build ours by so we have all got their shanties up now and do look nice. they are five feet by seven witch makes quite a good tent. there is three in a tent, witch filles them prety full, but still we have a plenty of roome in them we have the floor about eightteen inches from the ground, so that the air can circulate all around us, and it makes it mutch healthier for us. there has several regt gone out of our Division / but we can not say were they have gone to. some says that they have gone home for to recruit up, and some says that they have gone to charleston, so we cant tell were they have gone. there is nothing new around here now, so I have not mutch to rite. the Pay Master was here and payed us too months pay the other day so the government dont owe us mutch now they keep us payed up more regular now. jonathan received a letter from you some time since wen you wanted to know some thing about the relief money / but he answered it and I suppose that he told you all about it. I dont know any thing about it, but I think that there is a great many that dont get it. I know there is in this company.
I must close so no more at presant
