...on account of the pain that was in it, but I am thankfull to say that it is now most well. the Doctor lanced it and it soon run out and began to get better from that time, and it is now near well. there is nothing new around here that is of any importance at presant to write, so you will not expect mutch war news. but I hear of a raid a going up in maryland but I gess it is not mutch I suppose old Ewell thinks that he can gow there and steal a few horses and so on and so forth. but he may get cetched at it if he does not go still for there is soome waiting / for him I think.
 
I am in the best of health and hope this note will find you all the same. I will close hopeing to hear from you soon and also from some of the rest of the folks if they have not all forgot my Directiones.
