Febuary the 22 1869
 
Dear friend I received your letter dated Jenuary the 30. it came to hand febuary 13 whitch gave us mutch satis faction we had not heard from you for some time. we are all well onely I have a bad colld my health is not very good at the best Joseph D. weigs 196 he is 6 feet high Alexander M is 6 feet and too inches high and weigs 160 he is going school Jose is working from home and I am all day a lone. we got a letter from Welliam B the same time we got yourn they were all well. Alexander M Boggs lives in Kendlevill Noble County Indiana / Blufton is the county seat of Wells and is 6 miles from us. land is from 25 to 35 for acre their is 100 acres joining us 60 cleard and awell of water at the door and a perty good log house they ask 25 for acre but I be lieve it can be got for less. every thing is high here but is comeing dow alitle calico can be got 15 cents for yard the best and muslin 18 for the best and from that down to 12 and good cofy at 25 for pound whete is 125 for bushel and corn 65 buter is 25 and eggs 15 I have bin selling butter for 30 all winter the whete in the ground looks well. /
 
            ther has bin know cold wether this winter here the ground is soft but the snow is comeing down by spells this 3 days. I want to now where Ezekiels boys is for I cannot hear from them. I want to know how manny Children you have and what their names is they are working on the rail road that runs from fort wain and think they will finish against June and then you can come from their with in three miles of us Henry had beter come out and see the country and then he can tell for his self. I would be glad to see you once more for I have all most forgoten / what you look like
