april the 29 i received your letter today and i was glad to hear from you i haint much to rite this time only to let you no i am well and i hope these few lines will find you the same i thought albert was sick or something elce the mater with him i haint had aletter from him in along time we dident march only about two miles and a half the new hampsheire regement took our place where we was agoin they say it has ben a very backword cold spring here they haint planted eny corn here yet our camp is within ten rods of an old devels house he had got his garden planted we tore down his shithouse and his garden fence and i was on gard the other day and i see the muls in puling weeds and he said he tetotaly ruend and i ges he is for he wont rase eny thing on the hul planttashon our company is al puty tuf i am about the weakess one / here is now and i can eat a peace of a raw dog i want you to git ten dolars of yates and send to me this rigement is nine months men curnel jalt is agoin to take his rigement home he was trying to git in Brigadere and he has lost it and he is Brotherinlaw to the guverner of vermont and he tels he can do better there then he can her and the old curnel is giting sick of this bisnis so we are shure enough to git home by the first of july we shant be paid of till we are paid of in Brattleborro i must close riting for this time rite as soon as you git this be sure and send that ten dolars if you make much shugar send me a little and if you doant by 4 or 5 pounds and send 2 3 pounds of tobacco put in a little peas of cheas a Bottle of pepermint a Bottle painkiller send the money as soon as you ca and the Box when you can you neadent send a very big box send a skane of thread you al can read this   So good By
