Dear Bro Hen
I take this oppertunity to write to you to let you know that I and the rest of the boys are well. it has been a long time (almost four weeks) since I received the letter from you and it is about the same length of time since Dave has favored me with a few lines, although I have written several times since then
over three fourths of the 46th have reinlisted as a veteran Regiment will be mustered in a day or two and then start for home as soon as transportation can be furnished / which will be by the 20th at farthest. those men of the Regiment who did not reinlist are to be transferred to some Penna Regt in the 11th Corps along with the Conscripts and as all the Company reinlisted I prefer going with them to going to a Regiment I never saw So you may expect us home some time during the latter part of this month. the Col & Captain wish to have the whole Company go to Bethlehem for the first night and afterwards to Catasauqua but will know better how to do when we get there
I know nothing more to write at present so will close
Give my love to Mother Sisters & Bro's and some yourself from
Your Bro
Dan
