Post Hospital afternoon Oct 10 62
Dear Friends at Home
I wrote you a short letter this forenoon but I received Fathers kind letter just now so I unsealed the letter and thought that I would write a little more. The most sickness that I have had was a little Chill fever they very soon broke that up I have a little Dieareah but I am a bout all over that. Rolla is a great town the most that is going on here is shipping of government stores. They start trains of govt mules off evry day to all parts of the country from here that is the most that is going on here. there are five or six / large Sutlers stores here I got me a rubber blanket here the other day that cost me $2.25. We have to pay for all the milk we have here 5 cts a pint custard pies 10 cts a piece chickens dressed a friggzeed 30 cts a piece. In my other letter you see that I spoke of you getting me a pair you can use your own judgement as to the quality of the stuff only get something that will ware like Iron and the water will not harm do the best you can. I think that you can send me one pair of my brown under shirts and drawers it is very cold and windy here at present. I shant undertake to go to my regiment with out better weather than this / I would wrather stay in the spittell all winter than try to in this cold windy weather. I walked down town and back last week one fine day in all it was a bout a quarter of a mile. in sending those things if you have any spare room dont forget me in the good things and soforth I think that is all. we pretty good treatment here. this all I have to say this time
