Your letter that came with Mothers the other day is still unanswered I believe Now Inv
Sidney you are aware that I am the most inampt found man to answer letters that there ever was & I do not mean it loose that we _______ by neglecting your noble self. This is the hottest morning that I ever saw in my life & I have to stay ____ up in this office from morning till night. There is a boy here that is about the same kind of a young man that you are & he also is a great friend of mine. His name is Peter B. Tompkins Jr. but he is comonly called Pete. When I go home he will go with me & there you can have a chance to make the young mans acquantance. Well Sid I have had to stope writing for a few minuits for the office boy with the mail came in a few minuits ago. I have to open & read about a dozen R.R. letters & file them away for answering. Among them I found one from our Mother with a cravnt enclosed from the dance. I was very glad to learn that you are all well & enjoying yourselves. I will send you in a few days a Photograph of Mr. Pete Tompkins Esq & also one of my hansome self. George Kelley came over him from Washington last eve & I gave him a job on a train, but he will go in the caustnick train corps before long. I have got Ed Sliney at work in this office copying Pay Rolls & I think____ the Major will keep him here. Now Mr Sidney you must try & write often to
