Dear Cousin
It is with pleasure that I embrace the present oppertunity of droping you a fiew lines in answer to your very kind epistle whitch came safe to me in due time you may be assured it was receve with mutch pleasure and gratitude it makes my heart glow to receve a fiew kind words from my friends it shoes to me that they have not forgoten me thanks be to god for his murcy for yet blessing me with the living and injoying a resonable potion of health as I now do I hope should this reach your hand it may find you and the rest of the famely all in the injoyment of good health for it is one of the gratest blessing that god bestos on human famely could we ever more injoy good health and peace in our land doutless we would be the happy peeple on earth thou I fiear there is no more peace and pleasure for us in this life it is and has bin and will be my opinion that time will be no beter until ther is a chang in the heart of our peeple ther is two or three things I think we must / see before we see peace first ther must be a chang in the heart of the peeple we must umble ourselvs and look to almity god for his murcy and protection we must be drawn down from our wicked and sinfull carears we have becom two mutch of ourselvs looking to our one power and strenth for all we have or are secon speculation must doutless seace befour ther can be mutch change in the war meal is seling hear for only three dolars and twenty five cts pur bushel pork at fifty cts pur pound is ther a peeple on earth that can hold up at such as that doutless ther is not cousin I feale more than a thousan times thankfull to you for sending me a minuet of our association would to God I could be with you all at olde Elbethel once more I preay the lorde will be with his peeple at Elbethel that theay may prospr and go another way rejoising Give my best love to brother Johnson and all inquiring members of the church give my love to uncle and ant and famely and all friends inquiring and receave a due potion for your self so no mor at present but remain your cousin untill death W.
