December the 30^th 1862

 

my Dear Wife i rite a few lines to let you know how i am i am well and hope this may find you all the same Whe left on Sundy and got to harpers ferry on mondy nite and encampt on bolaver hight one mile from the town i want you to send som post stamp and send me 2 dollars if you can spare it i had to Borrow mony to get medcen and i want to pay it and get my boots mended the pay rool is made out and sent in but i cant tell how soon we will get it it is 4 month pay giv my love to all rite and rite to me as soon as you can direct your letter to harpers ferry this is all at presant
