I suppose your sisters husband is on his way home now if not at home for I heard that the 52 wer in new york more than a week a go but I dont know much what is going on onley in Camp and that I mean to keep posted on for it is rather nessesary that I should in order to know what I have got to do and then I must know how maney men we have to draw rations for and make out the requisition for the stuff and go and se that we get it but I dont lift and lug it I have some of the men carry it to / the cuck house our ordley Seargant Dempsy has ben promoted to 2 lieutenant in Co C and E M Lilley to ordley John more to 8th Corporal I dont know hardley what to write we still hold harpers ferry for the reason that thear is no one at present to dispute with us to day we got some soft bread the first that we have seen since we left the Capitol but I like the hard tack as the boys call them some of them are a little hard but put them in our Coffe or cold water and they soke very quick and soft you may say to master Charley that his letters / are very fine but I cant find time to answer them but shall be happy to hear from him aney time now Nila how are my babies for I cant se them as tall and big they are my little Children I dont mean to say that you do not tell the truth but you cant se me weigh 163 pounds but I have but I dont now but as you wished to know if I growed poor yes I do some but am not as poore as when I left my little wife and Children for then I weighed 130 and now some over 150 and am feeling first rate at that my father has not written to me but once since I left home / but he is getting old and I suppose he dont like to write and so I must go with out hearing from him that is by his writing give my Love to all the friends I saw Whittney Hamlin when we wer on Maryland hights they went to join Meed but whear they are now I dont know he loocked rather hard I dont believe he felt first rate I cant write aney more now so
