Dear Nila I thought I would write you and let you know whear we are but it is dark and I cant sea wheather it marks or not I am well and teough and now How are you we have 8 thousand troops with us and Seigle and Stalh and Brigadier Sulivan the other two are Major Generals give my respects to Ruth and except some yourself

Have ben musterd for pay to day so the goverment ows me 4 months pay I ow the suttler some and have 28 dollars due me in the Companey but ow some 15 of that
