My Dear wife I now will try and write you a few lines and in the first place I want to ask you what you mean by telling me that you are well and tough now what is that breaking out that you have got about your self now My Nila dont flatter your self that I shall not know aney thing a bout your health you asked about W Otis well when we left Hall town he got as far as the Hook and stoped was sick and is sick now I suppose but is not dead /
you write about the sheep you know that the sheep are not mine do you not but I should think that it would be just the thing for you to do and give your father a good prise for the Lamb tell him that I want he should gett a good young horse and I will pay some for it and now nila what is it that some folks say that makes you feel bad just write all about it and let your All now Now Nila dont be mad at your old mean shit you asked how maney months pay was due me now well I have over 7 months no more

My Dear wife I now seat my self to finish this small sheet of paper for it is quite a chore for me to sit down on the ground with some 20 around me and try to write but not with standing all though I will try and write a few lines to you just to let you know that I am still in good health and the best of spirrits at the present time and I think and hope by the blessing of god I shall live to se home once more and if we ever neet again we can shureley thank god for it for nuthing but his arm could protect through all the fights whear the Bulets flew like hail / but enough of this stuff for I am getting tired for on one side of me sits Wm Evans and on the other sits Sargant Clark Wm Otis Frank Turner and all in their turn have got some thing to say well I wrote about that Lamb I want you to do as you think best and what are you agoing to do with them this winter and whear has Fathers sheep ben kept this sumer did he hire that small pasture of Albert Winslows or not and how mutch do you have to pay him for keeping your sheep you have never told me wheather you have got those things that I sent with Harrison pleas write and
