Camp Near Berry vill Va Sept the 7 64
 
My Nila I now seat my self to write you a few lines as it has cleard off pleasant and warm and I hope we shall not have sutch a rain again till we gett into winter quarters if we go into them atall I have not mutch to write and I think that I have written prettey often under sircumstan but enough of that for it is my duty to you and my friends and I thank god that I have ben enabled to do so and that my life has ben spaird and health what or whear our next moove will be is more than I can tell /
 
I am feeling quite ancious about that money for if it is lost what will my family do to live on this long cold winter I sent you five dollars in a letter which I hope you have got before this and I think that before you will get this that Newton will have ben over to se you and let you have some more money I sent to him by express thirty Dollars I sent to him because he could get it at hinsdale or send and gett it and I dare not send it in a letter from hear or whear we wer then I hope I can send you more the next time so / that we can have some thing saved for a rainey day and now Nila I dont want you to be mad or think that I want to Bos you in your Business matters but I should like to have about three Hundread Dollars if I live to gett home and I shall leave it all with you for I know that my Nila will save all that she can and I am afraid more than she can aford two but you must be your own judg but if I dont send home more than I have this summer you cannot save it shure but I will try and do better in the future No more Nila
