Well Nila How do you do this day of our Lord well and smart I hope you and the Children for you can hardley imagin how uneasey I feel when I hear it hinted that your health is not as good as when I was at home but I fear that it is not quite as good as then is it now Nila now tell me the truth about it will you not yes I hear you say and I know Nila will se I shall rest ashured about it well what are you about this good cool weather for it is cool down hear and I suppose it is up thear and it seems good to have it cooler than it / has ben for some time past though for a week or so it has ben quite deasant weather hear and we have had some verry hard rains and it was just what we kneeded hear for it was as dry as a hot sun could make it and we had to go a great ways for our water some times and it is not verry pleasant at all times but I did not come hear to find falt and if I am not carfull I shall be at it and if thare is aney thing that I hate to hear it is to hear a man all the time finding falt with every thing that they ever have to do but enough of this for I did not sit down hear to preach nor critasise others and so I will stop on this side of the sheet /

We have at last got our muster roles made out and sent in to regimental head quarters I believe the first in the regiment that have gonn in and I am glad that they are done for this time for it is hard work for me to sit down and watch the papers as clost as one must and not make mistakes for if we get one most done and then make a mistake it is all lost and we have got to start again we got one role most done and spoilt it but we wer not to blame for the Cap't did not tell us that he was paid by another pay master and the pay master had ben changed and we did not know it / so away went one role and all the work but never mind says the Cap't so never mind says I for if he does not find falt I will try and not I drawed a pair of shoes last night and a new wool blanket the first thing that I have drawed on this year and the shoes I kneeded verry much as I have ben with my stockings on the ground for some time and it was getting rather cold and wett to go bare foot or so near it but I have not had to drill aney but now I have got my shoes I shall have to come in I suppose and I am readey and can do it in ship shape you know dont you well I think so and it must be so if I think so you know well we have got 28 men hear that we draw rations for and the rest I cant tell you whear they are but will turn up some time I suppose of course think I shall write more        Albert Hubbard
