My Dear wife I now take my pen in hand to write you a few lines as I received one from you to day and was glad to hear that you wer well and smart but you say that I did not say aney thing about those things well Nila I hardley know what to say for I have seen some boxes sent hear and they have ben broken open and all that was good for aney thing taken out and if I have got to loose the things I might just as well not have them sent and I think that perhaps it will be as well not to send aney thing / and you want to know what I had my arm burnt for well it had got filled up so that the skin could not grow over it and the Nurse said it would never heal over as it was and I wanted it to get well so that I could do some thing some time and I have had it burnt 6 or 8 times and have got it down eaven with the out side and now he does it up he will burn it in the morning and at night he puts on potash and that you know is good but when he will make out to heal it up I dont know but prettey soon I hope for I begin to want to go to the regiment and think that I shall ask the Doctor to send / me as soon as next week but I dont know as it will do aney good but can tell by trying and now Nila what do you think about what I have written to you for I have written you just what I think and now I want you to write to me and let me know just what you think about it I think I shall not try to get another furlough this winter if you are well tell mother that I shall write as often as I can and I shall write it to all so you all can hear from me quite as often as I hear from home but I will not complain for you have done first rate Nila and I thank you for it and thank God that / he gave me my Nila for my life and I hope and prey God that she may be spaird for maney long years to guide those little ones that God has entrusted to our care and that they may learn the ways of truth and godliness and I hope and prey god to bless the prayers of all our friends that ar daily asending to the throne of Grace and now I want you to write as often as you can aford to and let me know how you are getting along and how mutch are you in debt for your meat and all about your wants and troubles for I know that you have them as well as all the rest of the people but let us all put our trust in god and leave the result in his hands my health is good and I eat like fun and am getting fat as a hog oh Nila I got a letter from Harrison to day
