Nila I have ben writing some and as I have nuthing eles to do and no stamps to send it home I thought that I would write some and send them when I get some stamps so I can and then you can read them at your leisure and perhaps they will comfort you some if not just say so and then I will stop writing and you must write often to me for I want to hear from you and to hear how you are getting along in this cold winter

well Nila how is this that I have no letter from you this week is it your fault or has the weather ben so that / you have had no chance to send to the Post office or am I endebted to you a letter I think not but if I am when you get this I think you will call it all right if not pleas say what will make it so and I will see if I can acomadate you next time it has ben a cold and stormey day hear to day it began to snow last night and it has snowed and blowed all day to day and we have had to keep prettey close in the tent in order to keep warm well Nila I got a letter from your father the other day and he sayd that if I would come home he would give me a sleigh ride with his colt but I had / rather have a sleigh ride with their daughter than with the colt now what had you rather ride out with I can guess and now Nila my old memorandum is all filled up and had I not better burn it up you dont want it do you for aney thing well have you got aney money since I came a way that is your state aid for you know that I want to know how you gett along this cold winter and do you ever lay cold nights if so what do you do heat bricks and wood well if god spairs my life I think I will tend to your case another winter but enough for this time so I will close by wishing all good night All /

Dear Nila I now seat my self to write you a few lines to let you know that I am still hear and am without money and stamps and if you can send me some stamps I should like it verry mutch but you kneed not send me aney money for I think that we shall gett paid off soon for we have signed the pay role to day but when we shall get it I dont know and so I think you had better send me a few stamps if it is convenient for you if not let it go I received yours of the 1 of Jan and thank you for it all though it was one day behind hand that is I looked for it yesterday but got it to day and now what shall you do for money if I dont get paid off for you know that Denis Beals and Hollis want their money and your state aid will not support you and pay all other things but dont get discouraged for we hope for better times so let us thank god for life and Health you ask if we had all those things Christmas yes we did but I must close so give my Love to all that you can spair Kiss the Children
