My Dear wife you may think that I have forgotten you and the Children because I have not written you for so long a time but I have not and I have the best of reasons for not writing I have not had aney stamps and no money so you sea that I am bad off I borough the one to send this but shall soon have some money and then I will make it all up I have not received a letter from you since the one that was written the 27 of June / I have sent you some since that and the Co B roll call and I should like to hear if you got that and how you are I suppose you know that flora Taylor is dead we had a hard time the 4 but I came in with the Comp Erastus fainted away when we got home but is sp smart now my health is tip top thanks be to god and I hope and prey that you are the same I must stop and I think you will say I had better well I hope you will excuse this writing for I was on guard yesterday and last night and I cant
