My Dear wife I now take my pencil for I have no ink and hear goes well I am feeling better to night for I received 4 letters today 3 from you and 1 from Sabrina Beals and was glad to hear that you wer all well and I hope that you may continue so till we meet a gain we have ben detailed the hole Companey to guard Comisaries Stores near whear I was for five day and nights you dont know how thank full I was for that present and I will repay it when we get paid off with [?] for value received I promis to pay Venila Hubbard when I get / Home for all her kindness to me when I was a Soldier no nuse to write prey on and when you feel bad take your Bible and read those precious promises give my Love to Mr Dawses folks if you se them hear goes a kiss for you and the children
