My Dear wife I now take my pen to write you a few lines to let you know that we are still alive and well and I hope this may find you the same we have had another fight since I wrote you and a hard thing it it was for the Johnies as we call them but I have not time to give you the particulars but your all is all safe Major Pratt was shot in the leg axidentaley I am in command of Co B now Cap / is in command of the Regt and so I have to be ordaley and Capt and am Lance Sergt at that
