Head Quarters 12th Corps
Nov 12th 1862
Gen
The General Comdg the Corps directs me to inform you that upon application to Lt. Harris Ordnance Officer at Harpers Ferry, You can obtain arms for your command, or at least exchange those you have so that your Brigades may have arms of a uniform calibre. The Genl desires you to give this matter your early attention so that no Regiment will have more than one kind or style of arm, and if possible, he desires that all the Regiments of the same Brigade shall have a uniform kind of arms
Very Respectfully
