Camp.Near Franklin, Feb 3d
Dear . Wife,
I read your letter of Jan 14th and was very glad to here from you and that you was all well at home my health never was better than it is at presant and I dont think the Company was ever healthar than thar are at present well Francis our briggade have ben down to Franklin to day to flag raising and hald a very good time We are having some as plesant weather here and I ever see it is not very cold nor very hot jest about right to suit a solger but when it rains all the time and mud up to our kness that is the time a solger is homsick. I think the rainy season is about over here with us we have not heard whather tha are gointo except of us as vetterans or not I hope not and I hope tha wont give us another chanse to enlist agane if tha dont except us I dont know whather I shall try it agane or not I dont wanto and I dont back out I have to much pride about me to be caled a coward I want to go home and spend the rest of my days with my dear wife and I hope it will be so I can I dont think tha aught to ask us to stay three years longer in the army I think we have done our share tooreds puting down this rebellion I dont think of much more to write this time I wrote you the other day and sent you that ordor that I promised to send you it was to draw all thare is due me please write and let me know if you recive it if not I will send you another you can do what you think best with it I must close by you a good night kiss write soon and all the news good Night love to all
