Dear Cousin, Ann is failing fast the doctor says one of her lungs are gone. Ann says her left lung is so sore it hurts her to talk so be prepared for the worst all of you I wish Johnye would come over and see her for prehaps it will be the last time he will see her a live she will go faster now it is on the other lung for it is nearer her hart so they all say O lizzie if she is taken a way I want you all to try to come over it is hard to give her up and leave her children behind she cant talk as well as she could when you was all over here nor she aint as well /
 
She told mother she coughed amost all night Sunday night the baby is well as when you was here only his cough is better now you tell Jane how Ann is for I have not got eny more paper excuse bad wrighting for I write taking care of the baby do try and come over if she is taken a way all of you they have not got eny one to take care of ann yet only his mother bell goes and sees ann evry day she staid thare sunday night. pleas write to me and let me know if you get this and I will write to you again how Ann is        Write soon.
