                                                                                                                        Dear Son
Austin has sold some cattle and sends you a draft of one hundred dollars ($100.00) as part pay for borrowed money expecting if you need more at any time you met let him know it

We received your letter in due time and was very glad to hear from you We are very reluctantly constrained to believe we are to fail of our expected Railroad that St Charles instead of Aurora will have it

I have no very especial news to relate your mother is about as well as usual The rest of us about the same I go to aurora to forward this                yours truly
