                                                                                                            by these presents

that I, William Asher of the State of California by My agent or atty Samuel Asher of the County of Marion said State of Texas for and in Consideration of the Sum of Sixteen Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by James Dowdell the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged do by these presents grant Bargain Sell and Convey and by these presents do grant Bargain Sell and Convey unto James Dowdell of Said County of Marion and State of Texas his heirs and assigns forever All that tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Marion and State of Texas Situated about four miles from Jefferson on the Jefferson and Linden Road

Beginning at the South East Corner of Bobb Hamiltons Survey and Running according to the field notes recorded in the County Surveyors Office Containing three hundred and twenty acres it being also / the preemption Settled by W. C. Gentry Together with all and Singular the rights members and appertinances to the Same belong in or in any wise incident thereto to have and to hold unto the Said James Dowdell his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple

 

            And I the Said William Asher will and my heirs Executors Administrators agents & attorneys Shall the right and title of the Said property to the Said James Dowdell his heirs and assigns forever warrant and defend against the Claim of Ourselves Or the lawfull Claim of any person or persons whatever
