            Camp Tenally Sept 19th 1861
 
            Dear Martha I now take up my pen to inform you that I am well and hoping when you receive these lines they may find you all enjoying good health and getting along as usual.  I received the Box of provisions that you sent with Harry the Butter was splendid I want you to send me the next time Miller comes down to Bs put up in two crocks there is one of my friends that I want to give one crock to.  I wish you would not send any more crackers as we have those articles rather pleny please send two loves bread & some good cakes My Best wishes to you all
