Mr Fehl and Mis Fehl.
it is with pleasure that I seat my Self to let you no that I received your kind and welcom letter of the seventh to day and I think it best not to delay in writen to you for feer that you will get out of the moshion of building your hous. You ast me to grant you the permission to youse my planes. You can use them your self but I dont want you to get any person to help you and and let him work with them without it is Mr Mccaslion he may help you and you and him may put you house up with them if you like but the grouve plane will choak for you and if you want to use it wi take it down to Mike Beamer and tell him that I sayed that he should lay half coppers in in the frount of the bit one on each side before you use them for the plain is wharing of to much and if not sun it will spoil the plain the plow is good take very goud care of aul of the tools that you use for they cost mony be very careful with the pareing chisels for they are very easiley broak the tenant saw / is two tite to to work with if you want to make any use of it you will haft to get mike to set it and file it and you will haft to get him to file the hand saw for it is very dul if you haint very careful with the hatchet you will nock the bit of for it is cracked on bouth sides take the tools and mak good use out of them and use them well and if they wount work wright get some person ot fix them that ounderstands the bisnes dont buger them and whe will settel for them after the war is over and I get home go a head anput up your house dont delay begen to morrow of you can make the boys help you the tools I will give you be careful not to crack them on the nails and fother yit be very careful not to poosh them so rapet that they get so hot as to cos them to take fire dont beared at my fooishness take the tools and use them as your one and keep them out of the wet and nails a nough of that now in the ext plas I think you mad chois of a very nise pieas of land as a situathion to build a hous uppon the loclity is a very good on you can live on fish and rabits and squirrels and you wont have far to Mikes you like him and thare is Uncel Henry Sillile he is a faverite of ours and you will have lots of nabers / and when I come home stil I can get a little something to eat before I start up that hard hill I think I would like to live better thare than whare you had a noshion to build I expect to se quite a building reared up thare when I get home I would try to come home but I have spent my money nearly and so it will be heard to come with out money whe expected our monthly wages last week but whe did not get it and wont get it now tell the last of Jenuary Oald Uncel Sam is not very regular in paying his boys but if he keeps it back they will have some when they are free but if he pays regular whe spend regular it haint our name to save money here I will come home as sune as I can thare is onley two loud to go home at a time out of a company that makes twenty out of the Rigament but I will onley be abel to get four days and that wount be long to stay at home but I will come home of I can get a chance some time betwene this and ext April if I stay well and not moved from this plase well Mrs Maty they have got me in for cook to cook for ten men and dount you think they have a very good one you out to be here to se ous cooking it would dou you good no butter to eat butter is forty /
Now I will let you no that I am injoying very good health at present and have ben ever cence I came to the armey and I hope that you are aul injoying the same blesing I have the easeous times now I ever had aul I have to do dont amount to much I have no girles here to contend with though I se some prety ones here but does me no good they onley laugh at me give my best respects to aul the girles up thare tell them that I intend to come home to se them aul and I want to have a big time with them I want it to be a time long to beremembered have Jam thare when I come for I wont some thare is lots of it here but a person has to pay for it and then get a winters firewood in the bargen so I cant trust them for some of our boys have ben trying it I will close for this time as I have not ritten much you will haft to excuse me for this time and I will do better the ext time so good by for this time nothing more for this time and still remain your brouther
