Dear Sisternlaw
                        it is with pleasure I seat my self this aftr noon to adress a few lines to you in order to let you no that I am well and hearty all the time and I hopet that you are the same I ounderstand that you have not bin stout for some time but I hope that you may sune be stout agane / every thing passes off plesent with me here I injoy myself very well here and have lots of fun here and whe have a littel dance here allmost every evening some times it puts me in mind of the time in Counberland but the Ladies are few and far betwene and then after the dance is over it dont pay me as well as it did them times but whe must over look them times / and do better in the future the Ladies are few here and the most of them ar Secesh they dont like the smell of a Soldier nor wont low me to lay my arm a round them but you now that I dont care a bout the girls in Myraland I wont it Pencelvania or none they dont appeer to plese me here in the way of cooking as well as the Girls in old Penclvania / I will close for this time give my best respects to all the folk I have got that Dog tipe of mine taking for you wich I intend sending with James Warren he will go home to morrow I will come home in the Faul of whe remain here I will quit fo this time no more from your friend                                             Martin Fehl
