Urs dated the 12th & mailed the 14th of February is at hand. when it came in I was eating my supper I took it opend it and red down to Melvins Death and could not read any farther the teers gushed from my eyes & ran down my cheeks. I sais to my self Oh. Delila how can you live Oh I should think your heart would break. but now he has gone to a Land where trobles and paines will greet him no more may the Lord bless him 
 
Oh Mary I feel so bad I cannot hardly write. I will now say Mary you need not say I may think it strange because you send for that money Oh, I am so sorry I have not got it to send now but Mary you need not work out to pay for them I have got money to home at interest and I will send for five dolars and send it to you so you will not haft to work out. Mary you need not work out for any thing if you / want any thing just let write to me and let me know if you want any money or any thing else that I can send to you. Oh I feel so bad for Delila I hardly can write but we have all got to folow him.
 
            Mary I always loved you since the first I ever saw you and always will do the best by you that I know how to do. any thing you want that I can do for you, dont be affraid to write & let / me know what you want For no one sees your letters but your True Friend Eph. you need never work out for a living as long as I live and have my health. the ring I sent home to have another sent the same size. I will send home & get it for you. I will not let any body know but what the money is for myself. I will put it in the office to morrow now you need not go off to work out to pay for them wait till you get the money. Give my love to your dear mother & Father also Delila Bill warren & Julia.
